Dear Faculty of Informatics Students,
The following is an announcement for all Faculty of Informatics students
from the Student Affairs Committee.
First of all, thank you very much for your cooperation in responding to
our survey yesterday regarding the currend situation.
On April 7, 2020, based on the authority granted by the updated New
Influenza Measures Special Measures Law, the Japanese Government
announced a state of emergency for wide areas of the country,
particularly concentrated around major cities, in response to the
current COVID-19 situation. In accordance with this, the Faculty of
Informatics, Shizuoka University has decided to issue the following
lifestyle and activity guidelines to be followed by our staff and
students. We ask for your understanding for any delay in making public
these guidelines regarding the present COVID-19 situation because of our
need to acquire and consolidate the latest information in order to make
this policy, and we apologize for any concern this delay may have caused.

Tabulated results (as of April 10) of our survey, initiated yesterday,
can be accessed at the link below. We have decided to make these results
available to everyone, in the interest of transparency, so that you may
get an overall understanding of the present situation including various
concerns and worries as currently experienced by the student body.
The information gathered through this survey has been helpful in our
formulation of guidelines and related materials. As appropriate for the
current situation, we are sharing these results with all faculty
advisors in hopes that they will be of use for them when our students
consult with them for help to overcome any difficulties they may be
experiencing at present.
The survey is still underway, accepting new entries, so if you have not
responded to it yet (about 347 students so far, out of 1200 in the
Faculty overall, have submitted answer for the survey), please do so. We
are grateful for your cooperation in this matter.
Please keep in mind that this information is being responsibly and
considerately gathered for the benefit of everyone, so please cooperate
in providing us with your information, as well, if you have not yet done
so (n.b. Students who have already responded to their faculty advisor by
email to a similar survey earlier this week do not have to take the
online survey).
Again, we apologize for taking so long to get this information out to
you. Your cooperation in our continuing efforts to provide you with
up-to-date information and guidelines is greatly appreciated.
