Computational Models of Human Cognition
The lab’s primary mission is developing computer programs to reproduce human behaviors. Among various approaches exist, we are focusing on building computational models of human minds behind the overt behaviors. Specifically, we express human knowledge in the form of computer programs, which simulates human thinking, memory and learning. The implemented knowledges are applied to situations according to numeric parameters, which represent the human emotional systems. This approach will make the behavior of the mind exteriorize to the computer, so that we can understand the human mind in a feasible and concrete manner.
Analysis of Human Behavior utilizing Information Technology
Attaching a meaning to a large amount of data related to human behavior is an important mission of behavior informatics. By sticking to the model-based approach above, we are developing analytical methods that attaching a meaning to open-ended behavioral data.
Behavior Modifications through Interactions with Cognitive Models
How do humans interact with models of human minds, especially models that simulate their own minds. Also how can scuh a human-model interaction be applied to attempts to change human minds by ourselves? By applying the cognitive modeling technology and the quantification technique of behavior, we have built an environment where humans interact with models.
